『わたしの居場所、このまちの。:制度の外側と内側から見る第三の場所』(水曜社, 2021年)のご案内

Dear Greenbelters,

グリーンベルトの方に送ったお礼のメールを、Greenbelt News Review, March 31, 2011号(2ページ目のLettersの欄)に掲載していただきました。ありがとうございます。

Dear Greenbelters,

I read some articles about Japanese earthquake on the latest issue of the Greenbelt News Review. Thank you very much for caring about us. The project of 1,000 paper cranes moved me a great deal.

It is anticipated that the influence caused by the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster will continue for a while. But, our planned community, Senri, is at a long distance from Fukushima that is the hypocenter of the earthquake. So, thankfully, Senri is safe. My family, friends and colleagues and I are all safe.

All of Japanese should reconsider our convenient, but isolated and no-eco-friendly lifestyles from now on. This is a challenging subject for us. But, I believe we can overcome the huge difficulty, by the power of our ‘community’ and your cooperation.
Ryu Murakami who is Japanese author wrote a essay about the earthquake. He is one of my favorite and reliable authors. In this essay, he wrote that “The great earthquake and tsunami have robbed us of many lives and resources. But we who were so intoxicated with our own prosperity have once again planted the seed of hope. So I choose to believe. “
I agree with his opinion. I believe.

I appreciate your kindness and encouragement.

Sincerely,

Yasuhiro Tanaka
